Ripped Skin

Hello my fellow specialfx lovers. I'm super excited about this look I have done for you all today. I feel like with the ripped skin look I got courage to go a bit further with my craft. I thought long and hard when it came to this look. With some help from YouTube I was able to achieve it. With this look I started out with a pretty glam look. For my foundation I used  my favorite from Bobbie Brown, ( I will post about this foundation and everything I've used) for my eyeshadows I used  Urban Decy Gwen Stefani Palette and also for the brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow.
To continue with my Glam and Golry look, I took my burn and injury color wheel from Kryolan and I began to draw a shape around my nose and mouth. Keep in mind when doing the specialfx it doesn't have to be perfect but you want to make it as believable as possible. Once I had my shape in place I began to lay my Kryolan liquid latex, with the liquid latex you have to move fast. I've learned the hard way that this product dries fast. Once I have laid my latex I laid down my cotton balls that I pulled apart and made into flat pieces. Continuing with the liquid latex laying it down in sections so that it doesn't dry fast and applying the cotton pieces,  once each section is in place as its drying I lifted the insides around the shape to create an open look. Don't worry if you add to much latex it dries clear. Once I have my latex and cotton down and its time to go into the inside of the shape and have some fun. From the burn and injury color wheel from Kryolan, I used colors that would look real and also gory. Black, Red, Pink ( that looks like flesh) and the darker red. Blending these colors together keeping it as real as possible. You can add as much color as you want again there is no right or wrong way do to this step.

Once you have the burn and injury colors inside its time to move onto the out side coloring the dried latex and cotton the same color as your skin.  I used my Bobbi Brown liquid foundation and powder to blend this out onto my own skin. Now this step you want the outer layer to look like your own skin. This is where the elusion comes into play. Once you have blended, and everything looks like real skin. Go back and add burn and injury colors to any section you feel you want to look scared. On the outside of the torn skin look close to the cheeks I added some yellow and purples, to make it look bruised. Now you can add the blood. Again sticking to Kryolan, I used Kryolan liquid blood. Its fine its not real blood ( or is it ). You can add as much specialfx blood as you would like, I added some to the inside of the torn skin, and also on the outer sides. I mean if my skin was actually torn as such there would be blood all over, but I wanted to keep it messy but clean. You can use a sponge or an old tooth brush to make blood splatters. Don't brush your teeth with this tooth brush oh my how that would look.

And our look is complete. You can add what ever you would like to this look. Hope you enjoy and scare a few of your friends, just not your boss.
